Founder and Leader, Chicago Chapter

 

As a co-founder of the first Chicago chapter of openIDEO, I recruited members, set meeting times and agendas, and was charged with maintaining group engagement. For our first challenge, "How might we make low-income urban areas safer and more empowering for women and girls?", the team conducted research (delving into stories, tools, and case studies) to gain a collective understanding of the topic and brainstormed new solutions. We then prototyped our solutions and brought them back to the broader OpenIDEO community for feedback.

 

OpenIDEO is IDEO's global social innovation platform. They partner with corporations and NGO's to pose big questions and develop solutions to large-scale social issues. 50,000 people worldwide contribute their ideas through their online, design thinking platform.
